The Saudi Medical License Exam (SMLE) is a national exam conducted by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). It assesses the readiness of medical graduates to practice independently or enter postgraduate training programs in Saudi Arabia.

  • Total Questions: 200 MCQs (includes up to 20 pilot questions).
  • Duration: 4 hours.
  • Structure: 2 sections of 100 questions each.
  • Break: 30-minute scheduled break between sections.
  • Question Type: Clinical vignettes, recall-based, and problem-solving MCQs.

Scoring: Pass mark is 560 (on a scale of 200–800).

The exam covers four major areas:

  • Medicine – 30%
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology – 25%
  • Pediatrics – 25%
  • Surgery – 20%
  • Candidates can attempt the SMLE up to four times per year.
  • After passing, candidates get two additional attempts to improve their score.

After one year, an extra attempt per year is allowed for score improvement.

  • Complete All Flashcards:
    Start by going through the flashcards to clear your basic concepts. This will provide a solid foundation for your preparation.
  • Solve the Question Bank:
    Work through the MCQs in the question bank, focusing on the explanations (Reading). The explanations will help deepen your understanding of the topics.
  • Solve Recent Questions:
    Practice with recent questions to stay up-to-date with the latest exam patterns and to assess your knowledge.

Take Mock Tests:
Finally, take mock tests for comprehensive practice and final preparation. This will help you identify weak areas and improve your timing.

To be eligible for the Saudi Medical License Exam (SMLE), applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Educational Qualification

MBBS or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
Internship completionMinimum 1 year experience after 1 year Internship .

2. Professional Registration and Documents

✅ MBBS certificate issued from Unicersity.
Internship completion certificate.
Academic transcript.
Minimum 1 year experience completion certificate (After completion of 1 year Internship).
Professional license/registration from the applicant’s home country (eg, BMDC registration certificate).
Verified qualification, experience, and registration certificates (DataFlow).
✅ A copy of the national ID (for Saudis) or passport (for non-Saudis).
Medical report for applicants over 65 years old (from an entity other than their employer)

  1. DataFlow Verification:
    • Cost: 850 SAR
    • In BDT: 850 SAR × 31.50 BDT = 26,775 BDT
  2. Eligibility (Mumari Plus):
    • Cost: 200 SAR
    • In BDT: 200 SAR × 31.50 BDT = 6,300 BDT
  3. Exam Fee (Prometric):
    • Cost: 290 USD
    • In BDT: 290 USD × 126 BDT = 36,540 BDT
  4. Mumari Plus Registration Fee:
    • Cost: 1,200 SAR
    • In BDT: 1,200 SAR × 31.50 BDT = 37,800 BDT
Total Cost:

In BDT: 26,775 + 6,300 + 36,540 + 37,800 = 107,415 BDT
